Remember we are all made in the image and likeness of our Heavenly Father, we are children of the most high God. Luck is when opportunity meets preparation, when opportunity meets you what are you prepare to do? The Lions were prepared to win in their minds and heart. Some, just like in life say it’s only luck who wins, who looses. Others point to excuses, didn’t have our best players. The lions overcame adversity, prejudgment, prevailing opinion as losers. Lift Every Voice is both a testament to the strength of the elders’ stories and a triumphant beginning for a new generation of Black journalists and photographers. Where is the diversity that is always screaming at us? why not a mixed choir? That a look at the outcome of the game and make the analogy, both Lions and Chefs enter a level playing field, same rules and play under the same conditions. Lift Every Voice is named after the James Weldon Johnson poem and hymn Lift Every Voice and Sing, which is often referred to as the Black national anthem. Judge every individual on the merits of their actions. Once again, the NFL goes woke, the performance is perpetuating the presumption that Americans of African descent and/or linage of any degree continue to be persecuted and oppressed, and any white people are shamed and presumed of privilege class. Update: They finally did the National Anthem right before the start of the game, but most fans thought it wasn’t coming by this point and many were still upset. Not everyone thinks this is a fitting anthem for the black experience.
